Their 2014 WC win was also a fluke, I would say.

As soon as things settled down in the Germany game Spain played out a defeat that favour's their passage through to the SF.
Agree with that, if by “settled down” you mean after Germany had regained the lead, but that is a different argument than your original statement I responded to.

There was no chance Spain could get knocked out. They lost and knew that with a loss they went through.

Duh!

I don't know why people keep bringing up the Germany attackers when they were lucky to only concede 4 goals in two matches against Japan and Costa Rica.

After over 60 years of playing and watching football I have finally been told that when a ball crosses the line it is still in play because of the trajectory of the ball .
I am really angry about this as armed with this information I could have a been a contender , the new Stanley Mathews the new Lionel Messi I could have whizzed the ball of the pitch up and down the terrace bringing it back on at any point ready to make maximum impact .
But you didn't tell me you bastads so I have spent the last 60 years working in this glue factory thanks for nothing.

The ball was fkn out.

They said on ITV Commentary that if any part of the ball isn't over the line then its ok (overhang).

I always thought if you could see any grass between the bottom of the ball and the line, after the ball had crossed the line, then it was out.
The whole of the ball over the whole of the line when viewed from above.

20 minutes plus the usual 7/8/9 minutes time added on.

It gave them about half an hour to determine whether they needed to get on terms with Japan or not.

Its about the least controversial statement you could make about the last half hour of tonight's football: Spain managed that situation to face Morocco not Croatia. I dont blame them either.

Mad assessment. Even for you Dave.
