I'm surprised by Canada. I did not anticipate them losing all three matches.

Earlier in this thread I predicted Belgium to be eliminated and Canada as the surprise team. Someone pat me on the head for getting it half right.

Dont need to convince me that their manager is any good. Or was.

But as a collective, some players let themselves down imo. It happens with most international squads at the top end. Manager scared to drop folk, manager being too clever, players have had enough of manager. Rinse and repeat.

This. Seen it happen many times, usually the french or italians.

It still surprises me that he left us five years ago. Bar his first spell at Inter, he's a shadow of the player he either was or could have gone on to be.

I'll always think his time at United is viewed to harshly because the club on the whole was a mess and the fee had people expecting him to score 25 a year. But he really left us ready to be a top 5 or so striker in the world and it never really happened.
