It's mad when you've a situation where the best thing is to finish second in the group in order to get a favourable Last 16 match.

How can we avoid that? Put all the top eight teams in a hat and draw them out - likewise the second teams? Even then, this game would be a dead rubber.

It would be more exciting to do so, but the top nations/clubs insist on seeding in as many ways as possible

Also if you drew all the matches a team from group A could get a team from Group H. Then the Group H team gets less rest than the Group A team

What is wrong with you? Can you ever say anything positive? You have to find the negative in everything, and when it doesn't exist, you make something up.

Southgate appears to be a thoroughly decent chap who has got England playing well so far. You really do come across as nothing but a bitter troll.

I don't think it is fair to equate negtivity with being against the common consensus, young Davek is very positive about certain matters he believes in

You see what people are like in adversity. I suspect you'll see a very different man when that moment of truth comes around shortly. First bump in the road he hit last week with that team shheet fiasco and he was calling everyone traitors. I think we'll see Southgate unravel very quickly by the end of this tournament.
