Lost without Arteta
Didn't he get rid of a bunch of players on Barca? He didn't really make the team worse. I know they won the champions league but he didn't make Bayern worse.
He took over City at their peak. It has been 3 years, that squad needs to be turned over. Now I'll agree, idk if pep the scout is pep the coach
Good evaluation. Too much hyperbole on both sides of this argument. Evidence seems to point to him being a top coach but not a great manager. More Colin Harvey than Howard Kendallhe inherited a spine of Valdes, Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta & Messi. Arguably three of the top 5 players of a generation there. They were a joy to watch no doubt Pep defined their style & tempo etc; but it's not as if he dragged a bag of coal and "Coached" them into diamonds, they were always going to be a phenomal team, no matter who the manager.
Verdict - 9/10 did a great job, but who wouldn't. Might be harsh
On to Bayern. He was brought in to win the Champions league, on the back of them losing to chelsea on Pens the year before. Again inheriting an insane squad with the like of Neuer, Boatang, Lahm, kross etc before adding thiago, Alonso, Gotze & Lewendowski the next summer. Again the league was a given with this squad and as Pep said he would be judged on CL performances.
13/14 - beaten 5-0 over two legs by Real
14/15 - destroyed by Barca in the Semi's
15/16 - semi's beaten by Athletico
Verdict 4/10 - he was handed everything on a silver plate & didn't improve the team, not to mention the undertones of uncomfortable whispers and the Bayern team doctor resigning due to questionable interference.
Onto City - again the brief was to bring the CL to Abu Dhabi, he was handed a league winning team, with squad depth beyond belief. Must be applauded for two of the most stunning seasons of PL football ever played & the improvement he has brought to the likes of Raheem Sterling & KDB. But after spending £839m on the squad, he arguably has a worse squad now than the one he inherited.
Bizarrely despite that investment, they are still relying on or missing the inherited squad - Kompany, Silva, Toure, Aguero, De Bruyne, Sterling and Fernandinho & almost 5 years into his reign, they look closer to needing a rebuild rather than being close to competing for the Champions league, which he hasn't managed to compete in at all.
Verdict TBC/10 - but if you asked City fans or owners on Day 1, would spending over £800m wining two out of four leagues & not scratching the surface of the CL be judged as a success, I very much doubt it
What's clear is he injects (pun intentional) an amazing style of play into his teams and has created three domestically unbeatable squads at times, but his continued failure in the CL, the continued clouds around medical practices under him and the shambolic recruitment at city leaves a lot of doubt. Fraudiola? Probably not. Unique Genius? Probably not that either. Will be interesting to see what he does next

I think this is a fair summary of his career. The CL failures are really hard to explain when you contrast that with what he was able to do domestically. Even in a more competitive league like the EPL.
I personally think his time at city is probably done. But like you said, fraud no, but probably not the best manager ever. A great one imo, but he has his faults.
I'm not so sure on this front. At the end of the day I will always stand by the fact that you need a bit of luck to win any cup competition. Real Madrid won 5 league titles on the run between 86 and 90 yet didn't even reach a European cup final. I know I'm at odds with most people on this point as I feel the same about the World Cup. As they say, The league doesn't lie (though they don't always tell the whole truth), cups very often do.I think this is a fair summary of his career. A worry if Guardiola went would be if they wanted Ancelotti to replace him.
No chanceIf I was a Kopite I would be worried they will set their sights on Klopp.
I'd be more worried about ancelotti, tbh.If I was a Kopite I would be worried they will set their sights on Klopp.

Nah i reckon they would look at someone like Nagelsman or possibly Arteta but im not convinced by him tbh, Arsenal look very erratic at times, some small sections of the fan base are already starting to get twitchy feet i see.If I was a Kopite I would be worried they will set their sights on Klopp.
