Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

Just seen footage of Pep keeping his runners up medal around him. Very classy that. Granted the circumstances were different when Carlo took his off straight away in ‘05 as Milan had been 3 up against the RS so you can understand his frustration but something doesn’t sit right when players/coaches do that. Keeping it on at least until you get past the podium shows a respect for the competition as well as taking defeat in good grace.

He won the league because his biggest rival for it got decimated by injuries and he also had the advantage of having a subs bench that cost over 300 million so he could rest a player who cost 50-60 million and replace him with another player who cost 50-60 million, while other teams had squads in the red line by October due to hardly any rest or pre season.

They are flat track bully's and bottle merchants, this season they battered the dross in the league and struggled against the bigger teams in the PL.

I'm so happy they lost, they shouldn't have even been in the competition, multiple instances of breaking FFP, when UEFA finally had a strong case against them, they hired about 30 lawyers, never cooperated with UEFA delayed the process that when it came to the CAS trial, the 5 year stipulation had pass for their FFP infringements that CAS had to throw it out of court, then City got fined £9 million pounds for not cooperating with UEFA.

A victory for football today in a asterix of a football season, that City who are so used to playing with empty seats at Etihad every season bottled it when they finally had a stadium with fans.

Well done Chelsea.

The asterix was last season. When city were ",decimated by injuries".

...we had more injuries than them.

Yeah. When they just rip it off after is very brattish imo.

Wear it. Reminds you that you weren't good enough and you have to be better

And I'm delighted that Pickford kicked it all off (pun intended).

Last year was asterisk season my good blue amigo. Why so upset with City? They shouldn't defend themselves against trumped up charges? I think the empty seat thing was disproved some time ago or maybe in your part of the world you were lucky enough to not have covid remove fans from sports events?

But we'll done Chelsea indeed. Certainly the most successful English team in Europe of recent times now. Are City and Chelsea the big two now that the rs and United have slipped up or can you see United turning it around?

Of course its a bout the money and it always has been regardless of what old romantic picture
of 'jumpers for goal posts' football of the nostalgic past you may have.
But as we all know it's how you spend the money. United have spent almost a £1 billion on players
since Ferguson went and still have not a lot to show for it. Liverpool bought their way to their single
*Asterisks* title with world record transfer fees. As did Chelsea and let's not forget Blackburn either.
Barca, Real Madrid, PSG et.al. Of course it's all about the money.
And just as an interesting side point when Guardiola finished playing at Barca his agent contacted
a number of English clubs and talks opened with City who eventually turned him down.
So maybe he does have a soft spot for City and be an old romantic after all?
The difference in spending power has never been this big a gap and also FFP cut everyone else off from challenging your spending. Chuffs me off you lot were nobodies until oil money came into it.
