Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

He won the league because his biggest rival for it got decimated by injuries and he also had the advantage of having a subs bench that cost over 300 million so he could rest a player who cost 50-60 million and replace him with another player who cost 50-60 million, while other teams had squads in the red line by October due to hardly any rest or pre season.

They are flat track bully's and bottle merchants, this season they battered the dross in the league and struggled against the bigger teams in the PL.

I'm so happy they lost, they shouldn't have even been in the competition, multiple instances of breaking FFP, when UEFA finally had a strong case against them, they hired about 30 lawyers, never cooperated with UEFA delayed the process that when it came to the CAS trial, the 5 year stipulation had pass for their FFP infringements that CAS had to throw it out of court, then City got fined £9 million pounds for not cooperating with UEFA.

A victory for football today in a asterix of a football season, that City who are so used to playing with empty seats at Etihad every season bottled it when they finally had a stadium with fans.

Well done Chelsea.

Out of the two scabs clubs, I wanted city to win just as it would boil more kopite piss, but as per usual, pep over thinks it and selects the maddest starting 11 I've ever seen - a side that hasn't played together once previously?!! Bonkers, especially in a final.

Too arrogant for his own good.

Seeing the rs on social media hanging out of Chelsea's behind and doing cartwheels as city lost is pathetic and cringworthy - weirdest fans in world football.

Just a few years ago they were celebrating Agueros goal like it was 1999. They also had a 'big' rivalry with Chelsea. Its funny how quick they change from one to another. Hopefully next season City win it knocking the RS out on the way to the title.

I think the team selection was always going to be difficult for Pep but for me it should have been Fernandinho or Rodri instead of Bernado Silva and I would have probably played Jesus instead of Mahrez.

The rs do talk up these so called rivalries, aided by the media - they have to keep themselves relevant any way yet can, but I find they're constant need for validation and the constant "look at us, talk about us,plllleeeeaaasssee" cryarsing annoying and pathetic.

I really don't get how he didnt start with rodri or fernandinho - it was baffling that he gave up the midfield to Chelsea, and thought city would just outscore them throwing attack minded players all over the pitch - peps just too arrogant for me, there was zero need to mess with the side.

He did the same against Lyon last season, they had no right to get beat by them and he tinkered against a far inferior side and got destroyed on the counter.

Some of those players will be seething today and that malaise should carry over to the new season i reckon like what happened with Spurs, this was the year for them as the stars aligned for them, they have the biggest squad in europe where hardly any pre season wouldn't effect them, no fans at away venues, the big spanish 2 with aging squads, the dangerous teams getting injuries, the cup was there for the taking and their narcissistic manager blew it once again because he has issues doubts and a massive ego.

RAWK is missing you...

Made a few mistakes this season by going for gold in all the competitions. The league and C/L were a priority. Ok they were in the league cup final after a couple of matches but the FA cup run was not needed.

If this was Jeopardy, I have the question!

Is it 'If a Kopite posted on an Everton forum what would it look like?'

They won at CAS it was the first impartial court they visited, and it was quickly thrown out because the premise of FFP is inherently flawed and anti-competitive. It was inevitable, and UEFA were stupid to waste time, money and effort taking it to a situation outside of their kangaroo courts.

I make that City have 8 trophies they have won, not counting the Charity shields etc. I'm sure they have will survive getting to the final and losing in a 3rd competition,

To give some context to this, in this season they have supposedly bottled it, they have won as much as Liverpool's greatest every team have managed in the last 10+ years. I suppose that sort of sums up the levels both teams are operating at.

As a final aside, they struggled against the better teams? I seem to remember them knocking United out of the league cup, and cruising to a 4-1 win at Anfield- missing a penalty in the process. I'd happily sign up to that "struggling" against the top teams if it's on offer.

What you get is that City and Chelsea, with their wealthy owners, and the unfair and discriminatory system of FFP thankfully being lifted will be dominating English football for some years to come. It's funny that as soon as the financial advantage Liverpool and United had was challenged they crumbled isn't it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't he won 14 of 16 finals? I agree with you over the 38 game season though.
TBF it's not just finals. When he has big CL KO games he tends to second guess himself and do weird things. It looked like he'd gotten over it this year by getting to the final but it struck again. A lot of posters have called him arrogant for making leftfield team selections in these games but it could just as easily be anxiety or self-doubt.

Last year was asterisk season my good blue amigo. Why so upset with City? They shouldn't defend themselves against trumped up charges? I think the empty seat thing was disproved some time ago or maybe in your part of the world you were lucky enough to not have covid remove fans from sports events?

But we'll done Chelsea indeed. Certainly the most successful English team in Europe of recent times now. Are City and Chelsea the big two now that the rs and United have slipped up or can you see United turning it around?
He’s a kopite.
Guaranteed 100% nailed on kopite.

To be honest when I first saw the team sheet I was more than happy.
Surprised but not shocked that Sterling was starting.
We got beat by a better team on the day. Sometimes you just have to
hold your hands up and accept it.
It not exactly the end of the world. Finished the season as champions and
did a domestic double. 20 years ago we were playing Gillingham in a 3rd
Division play off final. That keeps things in perspective.

This is the thing. In football in general a lot is made of sides "bottling" big games, but honestly, football over the short term is a high volatility game. That match was decided with 1 incident. If that doesn't happen the sides are flipping for penalties.

So if Mahrez's mishit is a foot lower, goes in and Pep wins the penalty coin flip, he is then a genius? Probably not, he's got a bit fortunate. But he's not a bottler either losing a 1 goal match.

It's also worth saying this Chelsea side are really good. They spent 200m+ in the summer on a number of excellent players, and had lads like Kante, Rudiger to add them too (before you even mention Mount, Zouma, Azpilicueta). Tuchel took over mid season and the 2nd half of the season was at 2 points per game. It's a really good team with a good manager who I expect to improve again next season. I have Chelsea at least at the mid 80's in terms of points and thats without signing and Mbappe or a Kane.

So in a 1 off game, if they get the drop of the ball, they will defeat a lot of teams. People turn their nose up at Chelsea, but Since Abramovich came and got them sorted post 2005 nobody will have won as many European, or I doubt leagues in that time either. It's 5 FA Cups, 5 leagues, 3 league Cup and 2 European cups. It's some record that.
