Given the level of investment we have put in and some of the higher tier players we have had not too long before the investment, we cannot be bitter to borrow a term, about another club matching our success. In fact you could say this is the second time that we have wasted money, the previous being the start of the premier league when we were one of the top teams in the country but didn't follow suit like the eventual big names of this era. The only reason why City have dominated is because there has not been another contender and when there has, they have been matched. Looking at the price tags of some of their best players, even if we didn't have the draw we certainly had the money and wages to bring them here. Instead we can map out exactly why they are where they are and where we are similarly. We have evertoned the situation like we seem to have track record now of doing. Sadly, if we had spent 30 million on players at that level rather than at the level we did, there could have been an argument that we would be on that level, even if it was only touching distance. If they win the title next season they're level on 9 with us. That doesn't sit right with me.
You can throw stones at me for saying this but I'd rather swap Liverpool won 2-3 titles under Klopp and eventually fall back down fighting for top four than City dominate the league for the next twenty years. They're only five years off eclipsing Arsenal as the third most successful English side. I really don't want to be cheering the Geordies on just to change things up.
If it wasn't for City, United have finished runners up three times behind them and would've had 23 anyway.
Yay, lets go back to the days when Utd or Liverpool won the league loads and turn the Prem into La Liga!!!Yay the club that have literally ruined the league are going to win stuff again! How exciting.

How dare I want a sport to be entertaining and competitive eh?Yay, lets go back to the days when Utd or Liverpool won the league loads and turn the Prem into La Liga!!!
Er, i'd say the likes of Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao coming into a lot of dough (ala Chelsea/City) and regularly challenging the Reals and Barcas would make La Liga a lot more competitive- and far more interesting. The idea that, if that happened, some clown would appear on a forum in a decade or so bemoaning the fact that Real or Barca "haven't won the league for three years" is laughable. How dare I want a sport to be entertaining and competitive eh?
