But I mean it is unfair. You’re literally supporting a team that isn’t allowed to and will never win the league again. I don’t understand why football fans are so happy with this.

Is there another sport where a team that finishes 8th in the top divison and it is essentially impossible for them to win the title the next season (you can go higher if you like). Fans of clubs like Everton championing city and other state bought clubs because they think it trolls the RS. Both models are forms of monopoly that have killed footy as a competitive sport.

Literally. I don’t say this in jest but a hell of a lot of Everton fans care far more about Liverpool than Everton.

If they could see the forest for the trees they would see that it’s no longer a competition and it’s utterly pointless to watch it unless your team is owned by a literal state.

I just zone them out tbh, Arsenal won the PL last season in my head, Inter the CL, same with Newcastle.

They don't care more, it just adds another level of interest when Everton can't compete at the top. You'll find that Liverpool fans
are happier when we lose.
