To some extent you’re right, but they’re operating to keep within the boundaries of profit and sustainability so their model is to make big money on the youth players.You do wonder if City wouldn't be better off keeping some of the academy players they flog so they wouldn't suffer from poor squad depth as they are now. Palmer is an obvious example, but Lavia would surely add something to them right now, as would Harwood-Bellis, Liam Delap, Morgan Rogers et al.
