Exactly my thinking. It seems some fans view football clubs primarily as a vehicle to make money rather than compete to win trophies.

I agree with your sentiment about selling to a rival and that we should have added a premium for selling to them, but if players want to go, they will go - that's the reality these days whether we accept it or not.

Similarly Chelsea sold Matic to United....and he is the signing that might win the league for them.

Isn't it funny how he loved the guy that was turning us into relegation fodder but hates the guy that's turning us into European hopefuls.
