A preseason
The right position
The correct midfield partners
The correct wingers making runs
A good striker to aim for
Defenders who can pass

I’ve never known a supposedly good player who needs so much.

This year’s excuse is defo the World Cup though, nailed on

Trying to some how fit this guy into the team sems to be totally screwing up our shape, last season and pre saeson this year.Needs benching until we get a better system and more athletic and competetive mid/defence.

From the wing in the role Arteta played when he first came to us. As long as you have a pacy winger on the other side the balance is there.

Certainly wouldn't hurt if we had a few of those things that's for sure.

Arteta ended up at Arsenal around the same age as Gylfi and won trophies.

Gylfi isn't going to Arsenal or anywhere like that and is nowhere as good as Arteta

I still think he's got a lot about him. Just in a dreadful team which has no idea how to attack because of dire coaching over the past 12 months.
