Alderweireld is excellent. Really gets overlooked how good he is because of his injury/contract troubles last year - he'd walk into most defences in Europe.

I guarantee Utd wouldn't be having trouble in defence and would be up there with City, Liverpool and Chelsea if they managed to get him. A brilliant defender and a leader.

Always forget about Kompany because of the injury troubles, but yeah he's definitely still up there.

Well yeah it's a game of opinions aint it?

It is easier to defend when your team is constantly on the attack though. He suits them as he does have the pace to cover open spaces.
 

My favorite part about the goal is him looking over his should a couple times before moving into space and absolutely setting Maddison up the whole time.

Siggy's off the ball movement is really good and get himself into areas of danger pretty well. Imagine what someone like Gomes who can actually carry the ball and pass could do to our offense. Even Mina is a pretty good passer of the ball with considerable range.

Can we PLEASE for the love of all things holy get a head on a Siggy corner, tho? He's hit the wall way too often with year with a free kick, but the corners are often right on someone. Maybe Mina will help, Gomes isn't short, but come on.

Keane and Zouma have connected on a few, they just always go 5 feet over the bar. Not sure why we can’t get them on frame but we can’t.
 

Can't find the old gylfi thread from a year ago where we were debating this, but @sageyefc and @nsno-chris were laughing at it when I was telling them gylfi would be a very good player for us next season when we get a manager who doesn't just defend like Sam A. , I was going to come back to you and say I told you so. Well, I told you so.
