Thought the first v Fulham was technically more difficult.

His technique for that was absolutely out of this world. Weak foot, ball moving and bouncing slightly, crowd of players in the way. To get the kind of curve and accuracy on it that he did as well as how low he kept the shot was quite extraordinary.

I think a problem is that we need to accept what Sigurdsson is, and not try to make him into something he is not.

He is not a ball carrier. He does not get by on superior athletic ability and dribbling.

He is one of the most technically sound players in the EPL. He has great vision.

Anyone expecting him to dominate the ball and carry the team forward is just going to be left wanting because that isn't his play style. If you're expecting him to play as a fulcrum and continually be in the right place at the right time, then you will be happy.

Ergo, his impact does depend a bit more on his surrounding teammates than other number 10s.
