The two assists is poor but thats more down to what he has to feed, Siggy is having a great season, can see why Swansea held out for a fair price for him.

Sigurdsson is unfortunately a victim of the poor buying spree under Walsh and Koeman. Good player but not worth £45 million. However because we've paid that much managers have tried to fit him into the team. He can only play as a number 10. As when he was tried on the left his lack of pace was exposed and any deeper he hasn't got the skill set. If he was playing for United, RS or even his old club Spurs he would fit in and be on fire. Silva needs to decide either build the team round him or move him on so he can put together a team that isn't held back by a player who all be it very good at what he does is also very limiting.

He's playing ok, slightly inconsistent but the team have been, a lot of new players coming in and a new style of play, i'd be more surprised if they weren't inconsistent given the total change in personnel and philosophy. On his day Gylfi has magic in his boots, the reason he is with us and not top 6 appears to be more about consistency.

7 goals is phenomenal return at the half way point in the season heading into a decent fixture run.

Two assists is disappointing for a player of is quality.

Tbh, if we had someone like Lukaku those assist numbers would have been much better. Gylfi can only do so much in the setup, and Richy and specially Theo takes the Gylfs great passes and blasts them skyhigh, or somewhere else thats not the back of the net.

What a load of absolute garbage you wrote there. Have you not watch him play? Your statement sounds more like a rs trying to take a jab at one of our better players without having watched him play that much. Gylfi is our main presser and first defender every game, and always tracks back to help out the team. I know it was hot stuff to hate on Gylfi and his price last season, but together with Gomes and Digne, Id say the Gylfs been out best player this season. Works hard, creates chances, scores goals.
