Well. I like Gylfi a lot. He looks a bit distraught at times during a match and he can go missing too but someone who can score a goal like that one at Leicester has to be cherished.

I've never seen him distraught, not even after missing a penalty. I also completely disagree with the missing narrative. Focus on how frequently he is available in open space & doesn't receive the ball purely because his team mates are too stupid or selfish to find him.

Gylfi disproportionately creates a lot of goals relative to how infrequently he receives it. Common sense surely indicates that he should be receiving it more frequently?

Take the goal against Leicester as an example. How many times do we see Sigurdsson free in that position throughout a match? He is literally just one marker away from potentially scoring, setting up a goal or setting up a hockey assist. There isn't a player in the league more dangerous anywhere around the box, because he can do it with both feet equally.

For the critics, name some players that even come close to Sigurdsson in terms of both footed shooting, crossing & passing? Good. Now combine all 3 & tell me how many there are?

He's slow, not really the strongest or most agile. But he is in a league of his own in terms of both footed technical ability, and nobody can take that away from him.

A season where he outscores every single midfielder in the Top 4 leagues is apparently only 'ok' according to you.

Creating more G/A from open play than any other midfielder in the league is just 'ok'

Having only 9 players (all forwards) score more goals than you in the Premier League is just 'ok'

This is why nobody cares about your opinion.

Even on your favourite forum you're still a failure, look at how your peers view you. Sad little goblin boy.

Sigurdsson deserves more credit than even I give him. What he did this season with zero service cannot be understated.
Banned for a made up reason, never referred to the team as 'aids' however do I recall saying Rooney/Davies/DCL were a 'cancer' to the side.

As far as supporting the team goes there are posts from me here long before he joined Everton (or was even rumored to join) and ironically we argued for months about his open play statistics before he joined. Now lets look at them shall we?

Gylfi has 15 G/A from open play

Pogba 14 G/A

Eriksen 13 G/A

B. Silva 13 G/A

D. Silva 12 G/A

Anderson 11 G/A

Maddison 8 G/A

You sure were hellbent on convincing everyone here a year ago that he couldn't create a goal or chance from open play to save his life.

Ironically he ended up becoming outright the most creative player in the league in terms of passes per assist/chance/key pass completely debunking the 'set piece merchant' narrative

He is not playing as a midfielder...

This is getting beyond a joke now...you clearly dont watch the games...just post stats showing hes anonymous.

Keep repeating yourself like a broken record player conspiracy theorist. Nobody is buying it.

He's a midfielder that at times found himself temporarily relieving Richarlison & DCL from their striker duties when they would be out of position.

This is a tactical decision from Silva to hold the formation/symmetry, something we severely lacked last season.

You were just about as clueless back then as you are now. A few weeks ago you were calling for Lookman to displace Sigurdsson. Who cares what you say?

Biggest benefitter from that 17 day break. Wasn't getting on the ball enough before that, but now he is and we look a much better side for it

I'm not sure you watch him either Zat. Certainly not without your Sig hating spectacles on.

Yes he doesn't play as a deep lying midfielder or within the congestion. He also doesn't play as a striker. So you using the "he's a support striker" is seemingly so that he can't be used as a comparator with other midfielders, because he compares so well against them. The truth is though that when we have possession he is the final player in our build up *before* the striker. So he's not getting on the end of things and he's not the final threat. This is proven from the chances he's created for DCL and Walcott, amongst others, all season.

It's unimportant though because even when comparing him to strikers like Firmino and, a little wider, Son, Sig's goal involvement is favourable.

Son - 12 goals, 6 assists
Firmino - 12 goals, 6 assists.

The 75m man Lukaku has 12 goals, 0 assists.

So regardless of ability, Sig has had a fantastic season despite your best efforts to mask your opinion behind barricades of "you can't compare him against this player or that'.

I fully expect your usual "I don't know what you're trying to say / why you're saying it" but that's par for the course with you at times.

He's not Messi like this Ricky fella is making out but he's far better and far more important than you try your best to suggest.

Siggy is decent, but we need to take him off penalties, he's pyar garbs

Out of 5 penalties he managed to convert 4 of them, roughly 80%

Missing against Chelsea but scoring on the rebound & missing vs Fulham but scoring 30 seconds later isn't really a wasted goal scoring opportunity is it?

He only really failed to convert his penalty against Watford. We've seen the likes of Messi, Ronaldo & Rooney miss 2-3 penalties in a row & they still take them to this day.

Sigurdsson has never missed two in a row, and even in his current poor form from the spot isn't anywhere near those 3 players during their worst.

Ronaldo missed in the final of the Euro's as well as a Champions League final, yet is one of the best penalty takers in the world currently at 83% while Gylfi is at 81%

He was at 88.5% 6 penalties ago, so even at his worst he's still hovering around the same conversion rate as Ronaldo (arguably the best in the world)

I rattled off a few that were, unsurprisingly, unacceptable retorts.

De Bruyne, Cazorla, Son, Dembele, Hamsik, Rotan

Already explained this in DM. You have no clue what you're talking about, especially considering I told you to combine all 3 categories.
