So where is he going to play if Richarlison is on the left? Does he really have what is required to play as our number 10 or some other central role?
 
Just don't see where he plays in a fast breaking 4-3-3.

Only way he fits into the middle 3 is if he has two all action passing play-making midfielders behind him.

Central role mate. I think it would really suit him, too. We saw what he has in his engine v Argentina at the World Cup. He covered more ground than anyone else. He doesn't need to be the quickest to do the job either.

Always find the praise for covering ground strange.

If it has no positive on the game he might as well do laps.

Messi runs literally half as much as most forwards but is probably the best player in history.

Covering ground is what the fans want mate, and you know it. Besides, he has more to his game than the yards he puts in.
 

Good to see he has joined up with the squad, now preparation for next season can really start. Gylfi has the talent, just need to work the team around him

The reason Messi would have been hounded out of Goodison by now if we had him.
 
Can see him being the standout performer in this team if we play with pace on the wings and he plays #10 behind Tosun. Also wouldn't be surprised if Silva is pondering playing him further back for some matches, even as a 6.
