2018/19 Gylfi Sigurdsson

Once we have finished picking on Gylfi until we all submit to the "he's crap" ethos pervading our fans, who will be next?

He's exactly the player we overpaid for, nothing more, nothing less. It is no co-incidence that Richarlson has hit the ground running, on the end of some decent passes. Same for the whole attacking threat, but there's them that just won't see it, or won't give credit for it.

I guess the difference is I want to see the good things and I'm happy to overlook the bad.
Just ignore the crybabies, some just need to whine like small children for the smallest things.
Gylfis got pace and power on the wings and a deadly finisher in front now, he will be among the top assisters this season and he’ll snag 10 goals for himself too. Marco was swooning over his last performance, and it will only get better from here.

I quite like Gylfi, I think him and Pickford were the only real success stories from last years debacle of a transfer window....ok we overpaid slightly but I think he has been a solid performer...

First few weeks aside, when he was poor (no preseason matches didn't help this, but it wasn't the only reason), he was solid until his injury.

With Rooney gone and Richarlison signed to play the wide forward role. Sigurdsson has started both of Everton’s league games as the central advanced midfielder in the 4-2-3-1. This weekend he created more chances than any other Premier League player, and has created 38% of Everton’s chances so far.

Yeah but he cost 45m and he’s not Barkley, wah wah wah.

Haters still gonna hate, it’s what they do best.

I really liked him at Swansea, but last year he disappointed me with his performances. However under a forward thinking proper manager I think he will excel this season. The thought of Siguardsson orchestrating moves involving Bernard, Richarlison and Walcott sure does beat the drab football we had to endure last year.

He's genuine quality and now looking fully fit I hope he has a great season. His performances last year were patchy, but he had no pre season to speak of, picked up a bad injury in a team that was unsettled and a club that was unhappy. Judge him from here and get off his back.

You missed out - " he was played out of position ".

You`re welcome.
