Last season, when our strikers weren't really firing, we needed goals and Gylfi gave us them. He didn't do much else but he got the goals and we needed them so all was good. Right now he isn't getting goals and the fact that he doesn't do much else is really sticking out. There isn't really much to justify playing him imo. He brought so little today that the attack wasn't significantly worse when he left and was replaced by literally nothing. We just plucked him out and didn't drop off at all. That's damning.

Never is. You watch other teams and their best players genuinely scare you when they have the ball. Think about the likes of Maddison at Leicester who always look threatening. We don´t have that in our team and Sigurdsson is the biggest culprit considering the position he plays in.

There's a reason he was offloaded at Spurs. Because they found better options. Yes, I know he didn't join us from Spurs, but they've consistently been challenging for champions league places for a good while. Which is where we aim to be. He just isn't consistently good enough for a club who wants to be at that end of the league. When you look at what they signed Son and Eriksson for too. Urgh, I hate you Everton.
