Even this is a myth. All he does is chase down when out of possession.
Anyone can do that.
In possession he's one of the laziest players I've ever seen. He downs tools and jogs behind the nearest opposition player he can find.
He's a joke. We legit played better when he went off and we were down to ten men.
Such a bizarre situation. On paper he is probably our most accomplished player, his crossing, long range shooting and through balls are top 6 worthy. He is also clearly in his prime.
However he is so specialist in what he does, that he can't operate in the 4-3-3 formation that is proving so effective in world football. Every top team plays this formation, bar potentially Athletico (442).
It is to the detriment if the team at the moment when he plays, for that reason Silva has to bench him. Even putting Davies in a midfield three would help our transition, that's how tactically poor we are at the moment.
