I'm not defending him, because hes been poor all season, but why is Carlo / Dunc playing him left wing. He's too slow to be a winger, what do they see in training to believe he is a winger. He's getting stick every week but he's also being played totally out of position
No matter where he plays people seem to excuse him as he’s ‘playing out of position’, by now he’s literally played in every midfield position you can and he’s been [Poor language removed] in all of them

Im just curious here, what, in your opinion, is his "position"? He played a bulk of his time at Swansea coming in off the left wing. He sure as hell isn't a 10. He's not a CM. So what, exactly, is his posiiton?

Ideally would be the bench but yet he starts, week in and week out.

What’s worrying is that there isn’t a youth player considered better than Siggurdson for left wing or central midfield position. They may as well all hang their boots up now if they can’t displace this bloke.

bloody kids do more on the park with the mates than this, Kinell. 100k a week for this? This really just sums the club up at the moment, Absolute bang bang bang BANG average players on disgustingly good money, Sell/loan/drop don't give these absolute wasters another god damn game, This doesn't go for just Siggy either.
Morgan Bye.
Keane Bye.
Coleman bye.
Davies off you go lad.
Why are we accepting this sort of behaviour?

He's been played as a number 10, second striker and as a central midfielder as well. He's been abysmal in every instance.

There's no excuse for him; he's just really, really bad.

I don't mean this to sound rude mate but I think I trust Carlo over you.
I get that mentality, Carlo sees him in training day in and day out. But the ONLY thing that matters really is during that one match a week we have. And Sigurdsson has shown, for YEARS, he is not up to the standard. Yet he starts, every single week despite often being the worst player on the pitch every week. It really is quite maddening. If he has some guaranteed playing time thing, at least that would make sense and make me hate Walsh even more if that is possible. But to see his "performances" and then you know he will be back in the team the following week really is just so deflating. Theres just no culpability in this team. I can't even remember when there was honestly.

No need to rehash previous debates but I'm firmly in the "he was very good last season" camp.

As an example of what Carlo will see in matches, the Iwobi chance Vs Arsenal came from Delph and Sig playing out from the back, through midfield and then for Richy in the final third for a pass to Iwobi.

Noone else has shown any signs that they can do that. So the question for Ancelotti is whether to play him in the hope for a few moments like that or drop him entirely.

With such lack of alternatives, I'm not surprised he keeps getting a place. That being said, I don't expect the same to be happening next season.
