You never know. With 2 decent players beside him we may actually get something resembling productive from him. It is clear he cant carry a team or be in a midfield 2. But as part of a 3, with Allan and Doucourt then we might see the player we thought we were getting.

I'd love to think that, but what is an ideal performance from him? He's still a low budget Ozil, and we need fight and energy and pace. I like him and his style, but I don't think we've got that protection, pace and energy around him to allow for him to jog around looking for a killer pass?

I don’t want to see him but I definitely don’t want to see him in a position that he’s given no indicator he’s suited for . Of course he might have shown something totally different to the manager but from what I’ve seen on the pitch that’s a role he appears wholly unsuitable for and given his performances in other roles that is saying something .
