He needs to be 10 yards back so he has time and more options available in front of him. Also so he has more opportunities to have a pop at goal because he has a strike on him.

Definitely.

Find it very odd how we stick him almost as a second striker.

Even if he was a playmaker, he's not doing it from there in this Everton side. Too far from 2 holding midfielders who can't pass a ball forward and with every attack down the wing.

You're blinded by rage with Sigurdsson's fee, still - despite the game being off its tits with fees. He was worth that fee and more to Swansea, he was good enough in their system to keep them in the league.

It’s not just the fee, he’s limited in open play. And the stats back it up. If he didn’t take nearly every set piece his numbers for a supposedly technically gifted number 10 would be shocking.

Matt Cheatam( spelling) the Everton fan and stats man from sky. Said Before we signed him. Mirallas created more from open play. Yes the same player who Everton fans absolutely hated with a passion.

I’m not going to fall in love with a player who smashes a 30yarder in twice a season and puts in a few decent balsa into box. Like you obviously have. Because if I did I’d be wanting us to sign jessie lingard.

Imo we will not move on as a team until he’s gone.

When he was at Swansea, on here you said he was a quality number 10;

Lukaku seems to play with his back to goal

So mirralas is the only player looking to make runs in behind
Against a packed defence

Hopefuly with this new number 10 coming in and geri in the team

What you was defending Barkley for above, is not too far away from what I'm saying about Sigurdsson now.

Remember the same being said about Lukaku.

A more rounded striker, with goals coming from more players was the consensus.

Worked out well...

The trying something different should be losing the two holding/deep midfielders when at home to the likes of Sheffield United.

And doing this probably means you have to leave Sigurdsson out of the team. I don't see him being successful dropping deeper. If we are doing that it's Davies and Delph in front of Schneiderlin for me.

Barkley is a better player. At least we had someone who would try and go past a player. And drag us up the pitch quickly. Siggurdsson never attacks space or the opposition’s back 4. Plays it safe and out to our full backs most of the time.

But we don't have that more rounded striker...it's a plan without the key component.

There has been very little, if any, difference between league positions.

I wouldn't say he is a better player as such but I do think he is the type of player we need in that role, as you say, someone who runs at the opposition.

Iwobi may be able to do that, time will tell.
