This, we can’t afford to keep doing this type of deal. Loan with an option, sure (we need some set piece delivery ). Otherwise younger players from French leagues with ability and growth opportunity (skill and value) only way we can get ourselves out of this mess until BMD is built

Agreed. I think he could/wood be an asset to us in the short-term, especially with our need for width and creativity, but in the medium to long term it's not right.

We cannot keep making the same mistakes of lumbering ourselves with older players on high wages and questionable consistency.

Why would he come here, he gets plenty of money at Chelsea and one things for certain, it won't be ambition.

On one hand, he absolutely walks into our team and improves it. Could potentially be the difference between going down and staying up.

On the other, he’s almost 30, on huge wages, we’ll have to insert a low relegation release clause so we’d make a loss if we do go down, and I’d also doubt how arsed he’s going to be about giving 100% in a relegation scrap.

We do need to roll the dice soon though, otherwise we’re definitely down.
