Whereabouts does your brother live in France? We're down in the south west, not too far from La Rochelle and 2 hours from Bordeaux. My wife is American, born in Iowa, right on the Mississippi............very cold in winter and too hot in summer!!
No problem bringing over a couple of bottles of 'sassy cider' but our trip will depend on how covid restrictions are later in the year...............
They used to live in Paris but early this year they sold their apartment and moved to Belgium, They are now living in Ghent and I'm eager to visit them there too. When we visited them we never made it to your part of France. We went to Paris stayed there for a few days then drove towards the French Riviera and visited Gordes, Aix-en-provence, Hyères and La Prayer. Hopefully one day we will make towards your area too. My dad loves the Tour of France so I grew up watching the gorgeous landscapes.

Iowa does seem to be too cold in the winter for my liking, I have been living in North Carolina for 27 years and the weather is fairly nice throughout the year. If you ever want to visit this area we would be happy to show you and your family around.

Thanks again for the sassy cider offer.

Hope you both had splendid if different birthdays and hopefully neither of you are too hung over today. Birthdays are celebrated across the world despite our national differences and reasons to destroy peace. They are one universally good thing in a sea of disappointment, bitterness and evil. Cherish our similarities worldwide!
Charles, thanks for the birthday message. I'm just a bit hung over but nothing too bad, thankfully tequila doesn't kill me the next day like wine does. I totally agree with you, birthday celebrations are a good thing. I always feel grateful to have the opportunity to have another go around the sun :)

Our Belgium neighbours live in Ghent (not to be confused with Gent, also in Belgium), they have a holiday home here in France. We've been to visit them in Ghent many times and it's a great little city...........woken up too many times with a Belgium beer induced hangover!
We'd love to visit N.Carolina sometime............my wife actually applied to work at the Biltmore Estate when she was younger and she always says we should visit when we have more time. Thanks for the invitation, similarly if you are ever in our part of France then you are welcome to stop over.

I'll get the cider on order...........
