Loved him as a player and a manager, certainly put Liverpool in their place. Thought he left Everton far too soon as a manager, blamed Johnson for that.

Remember after beating Liverpool Big Joe interview came out with a statement that

Hurt when he had a pop at us over kenwrong, as I always loved him as our manager and how he had the kopites on strings, also felt he got done over and shafted by the owner just as he was getting us somewhere, so so will always have a soft spot for big Joe, even if he hates me.

Great player for us as well, just like Howie.

My hero too. Sat on my brother's shoulders with his mates in the Gladys, to the left of the curved wall behind the goal, for enough games in 69/70 to know he was the gear And he was a regular when I was working in a video shop in Norwich in the early 80's. Always a class act
