I was in Goodison for his first game as Manager. A brilliant Evertonian.

His time as manager is still my favourite Everton era i experienced as a fan. The Moyes era was alright as well but we won nothing sadly.

Same here that 94:95 season was boss even though we were in trouble we had some great games at Goodison the derby utd Newcastle after the semis , shame how it ended

Remember after beating Liverpool Big Joe interview came out with a statement that

When you think about it , a great player comes back to manage his club who are rock bottom at the time , keeps them up and wins the fa cup beating the Man Utd one of the media darlings and best club in the country some story that, be documentary made about it if it was liverpool or Utd off sky

We came 6th the following season as well and there was also the Kanchelskis derby at Anfield.

It's a shame the way it all fell apart a year later though. Johnson was out of cash and out of ideas at that point as well.

think he wanted to sign tore Andre flo didn’t he and Johnson wouldn’t cough up , unbelievable how many consistently bad owners we’ve had law of averages says we’ll have to get a decent one soon

Season after that we were 3rd or 4th at Xmas too I think, then the wheels came off spectacularly
