Happy New Manager Day

Trouble is we can’t attract a top manager that is good now … we have attracted a couple that were good about 10 years ago but these types of managers have had their day and just want coin, they’re the managerial equivalent of signing someone like James … they’re thinking is that they’re worth a fortune and that they’re bigger than the club … give me a young and hungry manager and I am happy to get behind him
I'll get behind him when he signs and has his first game. And wont get on his back when we struggle.

Just offering some perspective. This is a very important decision more important when he got sam in case of emergency.

Yeah it might be refreshing to have someone like Frank. He's no experience in dealing with overpaid uninterested cowards facing a relegation battle.

Interesting to see how he does. Hope its worth the gamble with a lot at stake.

Club have really milked this our haven't they, wasted all the window on an unremarkable bunch of candidates to fold to the pressure of some graffiti sprayed on a wall by some dosser

I don't have any opinion on whether Pereira is good for us or not, but it's once again such crappy leadership that he has been interviewed possibly 3 times since 2014, and then now he wanted him but then played out the idea in the media, then the interview, then folding to pressure. I would even have preferred Moshiri coming out to appoint him and saying 'this is why we are appointing Pereira'. but to 'test the water' with the media spotlight and then change his mind...wow, what is going on ? Unfortunately been listening to some Talk Sport by mistake and they are now literally laughing at us.

They can laugh all they want as we appointed Lampard .....

How do they know he's a Tory and would it matter, anyway? Where are the statistics on football success and political views?

Normally I would laugh this off, but it is ALMOST important that he's not a Tory..... you kind of have to get the fans and the city for this job, it's unique ... I won't hold it against him, but you can't be 'all in' in the city of liverpool and all that if you're also a tory. but if he wins and does well for us then he might end up being a Labout mayoral candidate by the time we're finished with him lol

I hope there are no last minute slip ups here, I am very hopeful of a restructuring of the club in a positive way under Lampard and hopefully Cahill. By restructuring, I mean in a steady progressive way, rather than the 'rip it up and start again' method, favoured by Benitez. I think that it is important, even if we go down, to support Lampard and hope he gets us back up at the first time of asking.

It has been a very unpleasant season up to now for Evertonians, let's hope Lampard and Cahill are confirmed today and we can move into our new era without delay.

So, what we asking for? A world class manager with a history of winning things, who plays attacking football, develops youth, and is a socialist. Who wants to join a club who's owner gets involved and signs a names just because and is a relegation specialist, who can develop a whole club and change the whole ethos of what we have become, in the next year or so.

Can't be hard to find one if those.
Bloody hell. Let's just get behind lampard and the team and get up the table, then see where we go from there.

It’s almost as if they drew this out in order to distract us from the open transfer windows, I’m just being old and cynical.

We all need to get behind a new manager and understand that consistent improvement will take time. It isn’t going to be easy but then when over the last 20 or so years has it ever been easy, fun, or remotely enjoyable supporting this club?
