While there is a clear bias against us, I do believe they handled their youth system better. When the reds had mass injuries under Klopp, they were willing to stick the young guys into the team instead of going our route and inserting straight filler into the team like we were. You could argue they had talent to compensate and carry their youth, but that is part of the problem with us.If he played for Liverpool or say arsenal he would
Have jumped 2 levels and be in the under 20’s
Thought maybe u17 a couple might have got inHarrison Armstrong is the only player we have in the England U19, U18 and U17 squads.
We have to do better.
Or...For the record I don't want to sell him. I like him. If Moyes isn't lying then something needs doing on PSR. We don't know how big a number that is. Yes I've foolishly underestimated his demand & over estimated Derby's budget with a 'creative' idea but come end of season we have a very small list of players left & one of them needs selling (again, if true). That list gets even smaller of the players we would either want to sell or reluctantly sell. He’s on that small list.
This PSR thing could be the blockage before we are allowed to spend & we have a massive summer coming up. Short term he is the easiest, least painful to the immediate first team sale we could make. Patterson, Beto etc is a much harder sell to other clubs & Branthwaite really hurts us. Selling Branthwaite short to beat a deadline ala Richarlison would cause riots.
Patterson is the obvious one that if it could be done swiftly & early & covers whatever the PSR number is then wahoo, brilliant but this is Everton & nothing is easy.
Long term it would probably hurt us selling Armstrong but this coming window is more important than a current non first team player.
Not something I'd look into too heavily. Armstrong himself was uncapped this time last year. Its very cliqueyHarrison Armstrong is the only player we have in the England U19, U18 and U17 squads.
We have to do better.
think this would be wise judging how well it went for branthwaite, good to go into an intense environment with a slightly lower level of play than the prem. Being abroad also builds a bit of character and might encourage different habits from the English system.Hopefully a loan in Europe next season
Scored Derbys second
He is going to come back and compete for a place next year. I like him
