2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Osman was a grafter and a very average player, he embodies the absurd acceptance of mediocrity by some blues. There is reason he never moved on a single thing of note once his career ended, sits on sky telling actual footballers how to play when this fella never won a single trophy in his life.

400 appearances and not a single thing to show for it.

….here you go, fella;

By your metric Pickford is also crap then?! Never won a thing

Osman had a massive impact there. I think it was Moyes first or second season.

Osman was very cultured and underrated in the way he could use the ball but particularly get the ball up the pitch, in a way i always used to think he was more suited to the European game then English - he always did so well in Europe.

Been having a look on their forum as well - nice to see a few mentions of Dobbin also - we've had some successful loans between the two clubs.
He's definitely overrated in this thread! A maestro 😂

Looks like a great path for Armstrong though, everton debut, progressive loan then back for pre season feeling like a senior player.

Complete weak link in big games, very decent technically but nowhere near the levels he is elevated to here

In the highlight reel i saw, he seems to know when to try break the line with that through ball but also when to make the 5 yarder to hold possession and keep the play ticking and when to up the tempo - speed up and play and slow it down. Its very rare to see that is someone so young in my opinion.

He will make mistakes of course, like yesterday - its no harm either that he he gets the occasional rocket from his manager and keep him grounded. Often feel that were we went wrong with Barkley.
Barkley got too big for his boots. Believed his own hype. FWIW I'd have him here now as squad player.

Really good experience for him to be playing in pressure games in a relegation fight. Good to hear he's playing well
Didn't look a good move to me at first derby were struggling badly but the new manager has turned them around and put his faith in Armstrong ,and without doubt will improve and enhance his chances of playing in and around the first team

He wasn’t an average player that’s nonsense, he played for a team in the top 8 every season and top 6 quite a few of them seasons. If he had pace he would have had 50 caps for England and played for a top 4 team. He was a brilliant footballer, just a bit small and slow to get to the very top

Osman on his day was a cultured, very skilful player. His day was about 1 in 4 games. Too weak and slow and was easily handled in many games. If he had strength and pace then he could have been a top player IMO. He was frustrating because we could all see he had quality but not consistency
