Full disclosure- I don't like the St George's flag. I don't like what it represents and I'm no longer the slightest bit proud of my country. I'm surprised that Nike feel free to play around with their own flag, it was my understanding that there were loads of draconian narcissistic laws about the US flag.
They do it all the time.
Some weirdo on the radio this morning was moaning that they should be wearing the St Georges cross on the kit like Bobby Moore did when they won the World Cup in 66. Not only did they not have a flag on the kit (nations very rarely do, Japan is the only one I can think of who always has it somewhere) but it ignores the fact that England used the Union Jack as their flag back then in football anyway.
The flag code is quite specific in places, but there's a difference between an actual flag (and therefore covered by the flag code) and an image of the flag (not covered).Full disclosure- I don't like the St George's flag. longest spelling of 'gashes'* I've ever seen. This is all great, free publicity for Nike and the kit launch. Probably one of the intentions as it's obvious it would trigger this kind of reaction.
Seems Joey is a flag Sh@gger mate, but this one isn’t his type and doesn’t fancy him.Dear Joey,
I don't think flags have a sexuality. They're inanimate objects. But you knew that, right?
