It doesn't, this latest ordeal has confirmed that the board is sleepwalking into failure and relegation like the management and players are.

The support is the problem* as we clearly are not very happy about whats being served up and the reasons for that failure with the buck stopping at the board.

So much damage has already been done. I heard a radio presenter apologise to Everton fans last night because he originally put out that merseyside police had requested the Everton board stay away from Goodison. 10 minutes later he said a few Everton fans had rang in and told them they never.
His reason, thats what he thought Everton had put out.
The seed was planted.
