A group of leading agents have complained about the conduct of a Premier League manager.

The complaints have sparked enquiries into the way that the manager recommends his players to ditch their existing representatives and switch to the man he nominates.

Sunday Mirror Sport understands that there is evidence to support claims made against the well-known boss.

We have been made aware of evidence compiled by agents that suggests the manager tried to influence top young players to sever ties with their existing advisers.

The players were allegedly told that the manager would advise the club to offer them lucrative new contracts – providing they ditched their existing representative and switched to the agent chosen by their boss.

Claims have also been made that at least one transfer broke down when a senior player refused to be pressured into ditching his long-term agent.

At the moment we are choosing not to name the manager or the club in question. But agents have confirmed that they have separately contacted senior executives at the club in question to outline their concerns.

They allege the manager has overstepped the mark by exploiting his position to help his chosen agent acquire new clients, with the agent able to receive lucrative fees for the new deals. Usually the biggest commission payments to agents are linked to transfers. But clubs also pay commission on new contracts.

It is common practice for five per cent commission to be paid to the agent on a player’s earnings during the duration of their contract. The agent at the centre of these complaints and being favoured by the manager will be guaranteed a series of payments.

Having a group of emerging young players, who may generate future contract renewals, is an attractive opportunity for any agent.

It is the route by which the agent-player agreement is being reached that is sparking complaints.

Sunday Mirror Sport has spoken to the club allegedly at the centre of this row. They declined to comment.

At one point it is alleged that the manager even asked a senior player for help in persuading his
team-mate to switch to the agent that he recommended.

A source said: “Senior executives of the club have been made aware of the conduct of both the manager and the agent he is trying to promote.

“It is getting to the point where the only option left is to make an official complaint to the FA and present the evidence to them.”

I know it's because they have to be careful, legally, but this is so general it's unreal.

Could be Heitinga, could be anyone.

If this is true and does in fact apply to Big Sam, it means he's using his club to funnel money to a party with whom he is financially connected, but offering inflated wages in exchange for a change of representation. He's essentially bleeding out clubs, forcing them to pay over the odds, and lining his own pockets.

I don't know what to believe, but if this is true he should be stripped of all managerial badges, and made to pay restitution to every club he's managed at where such transactions have occurred.

This is similar to what Redknapp was accused by some of doing at Portsmouth (investigated by HMRC)

High turnover of players and he was getting a % of the fees on top of his salary

"After the sale of Burdisso, Roma may need a defender," he told Sky Sport Italy.

"They know that Heitinga can be taken on special conditions without paying anything, because he has not been playing with Everton and he wanted to go to the World Cup.

"Indeed, I deny that there has been any negotiation with Roma, while there are two teams that have come forward and one is Galatasaray."

So we are not asking for a fee even 500k or something?

We simply are not going to get much of a fee (if anything) for Heitinga, i think his contract expires the end of June so any fee involved would be a bonus. Myself just to get him off our wages would be the perfect scenario and i would wish him all the best wherever he ends up.
