Being honest i want my centre back to be able to defend rather than play perfect passes, its not what they are there to do. Leave that to the midfielders.
 
His heart doesn't look to be in it anymore. He' s not challenging for headers in the box with any committment or authority. Seems to have gone to bits this season. It may be time to say goodbye in January and get someone else in and/or give Duffy a chance.
 
he certainly looks off the boil, saying that apart from jags and baines the rest of our defenders are all having shockers this season. Time to give duffy a go he can't do any worse
 

After being our player of the year last season it was probably a big blow that Moyes started the new season with Distin and Jagielka. Quite rightly he would have expected to be an integral part of the team. It seems like he needs to be playing week in week out to reach top form.
 
To be honest I haven't rated him since the home game against Blackpool a season or two ago when he pulled out of a challenge that they then scored from. I was delighted when he was playing well last season but I've always had my doubts about him since that game and would rather have one of the other center backs over him to partner Jagielka.

His attitude is a bit gash, from what I've seen. Doesn't react well to being benched at all. It's not like he's getting dropped for Neville or anything. Jags and Distin are both excellent players.

This is a player who came to us thinking he was one of the best 4 defenders in the world and that we would be a stepping stone to one of Europe's great sides. He took having to fight for a place to begin with better than I expected.
 
Our best centre half footballing wise; he certainly ****s all over Jags and Distin with the ball at his feet. Why Moyes dropped him for the start of the season after the season he had last year is anyone's guess. I just don't think Moyes has ever fancied him which begs the question why buy him in the first place, especially for the wages he's on

He's a freebie in the summer is he not so we need to either get rid or renew his contract pronto or that's 5m down the drain
