Thats the way I saw it. Duffy couldn't do any worse.
 
Duffy must be ready soon surely, seems like we've been talking about him for years?

Plus with the supposed arrival of Lescott, I hope Heitinga is sold quick sharp and Moyes gets some if not all the money to sort out the rightwing and upfront
 
How can people be so sure that Duffy should replace him in the team? Fair enough the fella seems to have lots of potential but that's all he has at the moment. We've only ever seen a handful of appearances from him. He's completely inexperienced and should not be the only replacement to Distin & Jagielka. If we're serious about coming fourth we can not rely on a kid as our third defender.

Edit: I think we should be shipping Heitinga out then pushing the boat out to get Lescott back. We could let Duffy out on loan then. A few big asks there though obviously

Duffy
he played 6/7 games llast season & was MOTM in 2 but DM dropped him, no trust in yougsters!

Was it that many games?? My memory is crap. At the beginning of the season right? We were doing poorly and worrying about relegation then though.
 

He put in a shift today work rate wise but simply wasn't good enough and didn't have a presence, it was like we were playing with one CB (Distin) who was taking on Chelsea's £100m forward 3 on his own.
 
2 bad moments by Heitinga today - the first bottling it out a challenge in the first half, and the second a misplaced pass in the second half. All our defenders made mistakes though - Jagielka could have marked better for their second goal, Distin lost the ball in a stupid area trying to do skill - you do it too many times a game one of the times you will get caught out.

i think that might be because distin seemed to be marking torres the whole game
