I’ve been saying that for ages.
Right? This is a decently high-profile national side too, it's not like it's Curacao or something.

Which would also be the case with DCLand they get beat

What role did Henry Onyekuru play?
Africa Cup of Nations: Iheanacho left out of Nigeria squad
Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is left out of Nigeria's final 23-man squad for this month's Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.www.bbc.com
Onyekuru makes the Nigeria squad for AFCON. Isn't that kind of experience for a national side one of the criteria for a work permit? Shouldn't he qualify?

To be honest lads I'm genuinely starting to think that something underhanded is going on with them not letting us register him now
I didn't at first, but the fact they are throwing all of these obstacles at us just to get him in our team is starting to feel a bit iffy
Would one of the Top Six be having such issues do you think?
Thats not the case though its been very misreported by those who havent read the actual rules. He has 4 of the 5 points in part B that he needs to get a work permit. In order to get that 1 last point......... he gets 1 point for participating in 60% of Nigerias Comp International matches for WHICH HE WAS AVAILABLE FOR SELECTION. Matches missed while injured dont count. Or, if his association is a semi-finalist in the Africa Cup of Nations in the past 12 months, he automatically gets 1 point even if hes not played enough matches.Apparently even if he plays in every game in the AFCON he'll still only have 45-55% of national side games played in the last 2 years. Usually this would be offset by the price we paid for him (aka if we bought malcom for £35m for example) but because we got him so cheap this isn't the case.
Basically his injury last season and the antics andrelect got up to have screwed us pretty hard to get a work permit for him unfortunately.
It did cross my mind tooTo be honest lads I'm genuinely starting to think that something underhanded is going on with them not letting us register him now

I have just had a look on Transfermarkt for his international appearances
Since 1st July 2017, which would be two years from our next attempt to get him a permit
There have been 21 games in that time
In the squad for 10
Not in squad for 9 ( six of these were world cup warm-up and then world cup )
Injured for 2
This doesn't include any Afcon appearances in the next couple of weeks
Don't think he will have any trouble getting 60%
I was just going off the post above, haven't got a clue how they work it outNeeds more than 60%
