Confirmed Signing Henry Onyekuru

Only one game; possibly he was also knackered by the preparation because Weiler's preparation for the season is brutal. Plus the amateurs will have been very motivated because they almost never play against a team like Anderlecht. They lost 1-3 but the scoreline could have been different. Good game from them, especially after only one week of training.

There was a more expensive player on the field, weak performance from him also. Stanciu (10 mil. €), he was one of those players that was very popular in FM. FM isn't real life; his previous season was (very) weak, I really hope he starts improving because otherwise he'll go down as the biggest waste of money in Belgian football.

Saw him tonight.

It was RSCA B that was playing; so no Dendoncker, Trebel, Hanni, Kums, Kara, etc. All those players were being rested for the Supercup on Saturday. Onyekuru played the entire match.

He had a bad game. In the first halve he got marked out of the game by Wouter Hias, who is a school teacher and regularly struggles in First Amateur division (good on Wouter; he'll remember his performance). Luckily Wouter was replaced in the second half and then it was a bit better. In that half he also missed a one on one against possibly one of the worst keepers I have ever seen. The keeper was responsible for all three goals, except maybe the third one but I really feel he should have stopped it.

It was quite warm though and there were drinking breaks. Plus maybe he wasn't motivated to put in some effort; it happens.

There is video material available but I really urge you not to watch it. Don't do it.
Oh ffs we have bought a dud, getting marked out of the match by a part time dinner lady.

Season starts proper today. Belgian super cup.

Henry watch has begun.

I don't think he'll get many minutes tonight. Could be wrong but I think this will be the line-up.

Sels; Appiah, Kara, Spajic, Obradovic; Dendoncker, Trebel, Kums; Chipciu, Hanni, Teodorczyk

No Stanciu ?

I think Onyekuru might start.

We'll see mate but I don't think so; I went to see RSCA on Wednesday and it was the B-team being played then. The other ones were getting a rest. So at most I think he will have a substitution appearance. Same for Stanciu I think.

Interesting. Good work pal. You live over there ?

I was under the impression Stanciu would be a key player this season coming up. Is that not the case ?

Yes mate I live in Belgium. I mainly watch Dender and RSCA. Stanciu did good in the preseason games; except maybe the last one. He's only starting today though because Dendoncker has a virus I reckon; he'll get his chance but last season he was weak. Hope he improves.

On loan Everton forward Henry Onyekuru almost celebrated his first real game for Anderlecht with a goal in their 2-1 Belgium Super Cup win over Zulte-Waregem.

Onyekuru was introduced in the 64th minute with Anderlecht leading 2-1 after coming from a goal down, and the forward who scored 24 goals for Eupen last season almost got on the score sheet six minutes before full time.

His effort beat the goalkeeper of Zulte-Waregem but it came off the bar just as he was peeling away to celebrate the strike, thinking it will land in the net but it mattered less as they ended up winning 2-1.

Nigerian forward Aliko Bala started from the bench for Zulte-Waregem while his compatriot at the club Kingsley Madu wasn’t listed in the matchday squad for the tie.
