HGV Lorry Drivers v England

Agreed!

But it countries that focus on the team style not the individuals that tend to win things e.g. Germany so its not always the team that has the best players etc.

England have a great crop of talent but we need a manager who can develop them and the team to play as a tournament winning team too.

Example: There was plenty of talent in the England teams from 1998 to 2006 but we didn't really come close to winning anything.
One of the biggest things Southgate has done is build a squad with a great team ethic, players who want to play for each other. In the 2002- 2008 squads there were too many individuals who didnt. As you said,Germany were not always the best team but won things- its not always having the best players but having the best team.

This is not to undermine the fight against racism in football - which is real and needs obliterating - but I do get the impression Southgate's England set up do try and weaponise this for in-game reasons now. I mean, politically, hats off to the national team for keeping the issue prominent, but I do believe they are trying to get a competitive edge now. That stuff with Glik and reporting him looks a massive stretch and just so happened to coincide with England struggling in the game.

Yeah, heaven forbid that an Eastern European would be racist, they have no form for that kind of thing AT ALL.

It must surely be just sour grapes from an England team that is deeply upset about drawing a game of football.

Shame on them......................

You really dont say some very stupid things Dave.

I know I dont.

England would dominate world football, if they had someone along side Southgate, who would give him a push to turn the screw and go for it.

Defensively, great. Organisation, also great.

But why he is incapable of making subs, and changing it up, I’m not entirely sure.

However, not losing almost guarantees qualification with minimal fuss, when Hungary and Poland seemed tricky.
San Marino and Andorra away are more or less guaranteed 6 points.

If I’m Southgate I 100% do not call up Kane next time and save him, clearly not fit, and capable of 90 mins after his stand off.

Bellingham will be a superstar though.

Midfield is still our weak point IMO. Very good options in attack. Defence is pretty good. But Rice and Phillips don't compare to the midfields of other top countries IMO. We need better ones to come through. Bellingham deffo. Skipp looks good IMO. There are a few other good young ones but they still have a lot to do before they're ready.

I’m certain Bellingham will become the rock in the midfield. The Andorra game (yes, it’s Andorra), was just a whole new level.

Southgate is very, very loyal, so I do agree, but Rice and Philipps do a solid job for now. Bellingham will bring a different degree to the game when he gets a chance, but even blowing the Poland game, they were solid over their two hardest games there.
