There's a series on at the moment detailing the history of Communism in the UK on Radio 4. As an adjunct I googled the history of communism in Merseyside and came across this. Definitely forgotten history.

Never worked out what the Liberal's actually stand for.
"Liberals" over here are the most illiberal, arrogant, condescending and dictatorial people one could meet.Warm and fluffy mediocrity…….
"Liberals" over here are the most illiberal, arrogant, condescending and dictatorial people one could meet.
They have driven the media agenda for about six decades and now anyone who has a different view of the world to them is castigated, vilified, marginalised.
You follow their "right on" agenda or else pay the price of ridicule, isolation and forget about serious career advancement in the Public Service if one voices a slightly nonconformist opinion to the "Liberal Message".

She's a Melon mate, Green on the outside - red on the Inside and daft all the way throughThis story has really angered me.
This right-on know it all green mayor (no doubt "liberal") decides that a 30 year tradition of a free live animal crib at Dublin's Mansion House is to stop under her watch.
Instead it has been moved to St stephen's Green which is at the end of Dawson Street, where the Mansion house is located.
Some wonderful liberal quotes:
"The Lord Mayor discussed her reasons for making the move, highlighting how other industries are also starting to change.
“I know the IFA and DSPCA have been looking after the animals, I just think in 2022 we need to move away from animals. (NOTE "I").
Ms Conroy was asked about children from the inner city, who could potentially be missing out on animal contact.
“I don’t see that because most schools, if not every school, go to Causey Farm or the Zoo, which has done great work around their city farm as well, so I don’t think kids are missing out."
Causey Farm is over an hour from Dublin inner city and charges entry - from their website: (Note: Bookings are subject to a minimum charge of €300 in the event that less than 22 pupils arrive.)
The Zoo is not exactly in the Inner City, and charges (understandably) for entry.
This was a free experience for all, right in the heart of the Capital, and carefully monitored by the owners of the animals and by the ISPCA/DSPCA.
But of course this nice liberal person KNOWS better than everyone else.
Well done OPW in making St Stephen's Green available until this lovely person vacates the Mansion House.
