Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Just read the article, well most of it, as it was quite long. Can be horrendous can't they the RS. Blindly supporting a player regardless of his conduct just because he was one of their better footballers. I doubt they would have got the awful t-shirts out for Lovren or Mignolet.

I think a lot of their attitude over that was their resentment of Man Utd. But it was also about a manager who thought 'sledging' on race grounds was nothing at all (as John Barnes underlined in his biography) and the complete lack of any recognition by that club over taking responsibility for some horrendous acts committed in the past.

Their sense of entitlement was challenged and denied them because they were faced with a mightier name in the game than they are. They resented that realisation bitterly and so there was that almighty tussle which they lost.

Would find it very surprising if there was no camera evidence of it at all at such a televised game like that. So many tv networks will have covered it.

Problem is, it wasn't a Premier league game on Sky..... Sky have cameras everywhere... Its always noticeable now watching fa Cup games on BBC that they don't have anywhere near the camera angles and replays that Sky do have...

Wasn't there no camera evidence for suarez Evra? They went on evra's word? Regardless of suarez addmiting it?

You’re right in the sense that Camera angles were inconclusive, even Kuyt said he didn’t hear a thing even though he’s stood right next to them when he said it for like the 5th time (this is why Kenny & the ref not reacting means nothing)

The Fa deals on probabilities in these cases believe it or not and it’s going to come down as one mans word against another I fear.

Sky still have the same amount of cameras at every game mate. It's shown live all over the world not just uk

There must be something in this. If there was zero visual evidence and the players involved and the referee all state the didn't hear anything then the player would have been found no guilty by now. That doens't mean Holgate lied - his reaction is absolutely genuine but you have to have evidence. I would have thought the FA whilst being thorough in their investigation would have made some a statement by now because they don't want a something like this just hanging around like a bad smell. It's been nearly a month now, my guess is some evidence has come to light that back Holgates claims

Does it take a month to watch a video and do a few interviews with players?

Dragged on a bit this. Either he did it or he didn't. It's surely not that hard to determine.

Clearly it is, and thats what they are trying to do.
