It's going to take months just to charge Firminho (If he's guilty) then it will be a few more months before he would even be given the ban. If anything comes of the investigation then it probably won't affect him until next season.

No, but almost a month after the incident what are they investigating?? Theyre not going to get any more evidence are they? From what we’ve all seen there is no evidence of racism but he does swear at him in porteguese. So unless someone comes out and says they heard a racist comment then I don’t see what the investigation is.

Even if the ref thinks he might have heard something, he will not say that now....had he heard something on the night and not acted, his career is over.....

Is it possible that the reason there is no update is Holgate and Firminho have had a chat, Holgate has accepted Firminho’s version (or apology) and the matter has been dropped and not being investigated at all?

What happens is that players are interviewed, footage is viewed and a picture of what happened is built up. A chronology of events is then built up and because different people usually have different versions of how the events unfolded then it is likely that there will be second interviews in an attempt to clarify the anomalies.

Then there will be expert witnesses called in regarding things like lip reading and body language and then you will need legally qualified people to view the evidence to ensure it is a robust process.

Surely the sensible thing to do is allow the process to take place, read the judgement and then form an opinion.
