Can't wait, heading over to England to relations near Birmingham over Easter, I love that area they live, about 30 miles from the City close to Stratford on Avon, I'm just thankful Miss May has pushed for a brexit extension, I really wasn't looking forward to the whole Brexit non GB citizen in the airport.
The whole brexit non GB in the airport???

Not holiday as such, but will be working in Singapore for 6 months from June. Anybody been? What can you tell me that's good/bad about the place? I've done a lot of SE Asia before, but not Singapore. Really looking forward to it! There will of course be many weekend trips to places like Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, Philippines, etc, over the course of the six months!

As I understand, alcohol is crazy expensive and the best way of getting hold of it as a reasonable price is via duty free in the airport. Food can be had cheaply in the street markets and in the Chinese/Indian quarter of the city, etc, and it's a beautifully clean place to live.
You're correct, the booze is expensive so grab a bottle of something in duty free and if you want a session then make sure you go out during happy hours. Also, you can get cheap-ish beers along with food at the Hawker Markets, Little India or China Town. One of my favourite "chain" restaurants on that side of the world is Din Tai Fung which serves loads of Dim Sum at reasonable prices considering how nice it is.
Other than that, the only other thing I remember is that it's humid at hell so you sweat your tits off if you need to walk anywhere.

The hawker centres look absolutely outstanding. Aside from Singapore being the perfect hub to travel from, the food is the thing I'm most looking forward to. Thanks for the tips, mate!
