Holidays 2019

Just got back (yesterday) from Dominican Republic. First ever all inclusive holiday. If you want a place to go to just put your feet up and get some R&R, that's the place to do it. Two adults, flights and accommodation from Houston, 5 star, private butler, jacuzzi in the room, multiple pools, food was first rate and booze was unlimited. 4 nights, 5 days, bang on holiday - something I'll definitely be doing again! Beaches were amazing, water was warm to swim in. Can't speak highly enough of the place.

Haven't had a holiday since 98, but i try and get away hiking at least once a week in Snowdonia. This year I think im doing to do more of the Lakes since ive only done 2 or 3 routes/peaks up that way, and have ticked off all the best peaks and routes in North Wales. That will be my holiday as such for 2019.

After much debating this year about where we are going - took the plunge last week and booked Dominican Republic for 2 weeks in August. Where staying in Playa de Bávaro, Punta Cana. Good to hear such a good review - which resort did you stay in?

Got Dusseldorf for a Stag in July, then going to Orlando in September, cannot wait.

Just wondering if anyone on here has been to Kiev? Been pricing a weekend away with a few mates and it seems incredibly cheap yet a lot safer than I had assumed, as most of the issues are in Donetsk/Crimea.
It’s a good city, we ended up with an extra day after the match thanks to Lufthansa going on strike. There’s loads of historical stuff to do and walking tours around the centre, beer’s cheap and the Metro is 5p a journey so you can get round easily. We stayed in the Hotel Rus, right by the stadium.

On a train at the moment, back to Krakow after spending 5 nights in Lviv, Ukraine. Got an Easyjet Lpool to Krakow flight, one night in Krakow on way out & way back.

Lviv is a great city, nice old town, cheap as chips (pint 90p in town centre), great food & loads of gorgeous girls everywhere you look.

You have to change trains at Przemysl at the Polish border; the Ukrainian trains were spacious & comfy & with free WiFi (cost £46 return in total, but that was 1st class - for a 2 x 210 mile return journey).

Recommend it thoroughly for a wee jaunt!

Not holiday as such, but will be working in Singapore for 6 months from June. Anybody been? What can you tell me that's good/bad about the place? I've done a lot of SE Asia before, but not Singapore. Really looking forward to it! There will of course be many weekend trips to places like Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, Philippines, etc, over the course of the six months!

As I understand, alcohol is crazy expensive and the best way of getting hold of it as a reasonable price is via duty free in the airport. Food can be had cheaply in the street markets and in the Chinese/Indian quarter of the city, etc, and it's a beautifully clean place to live.
