Bled is stunning. A serious amount of wealth in that town.Only spent a few days in Bled and Ljubljana but they were brilliant. Lots of the smaller towns look incredible too. I don´t think you can go wrong.

Iceland is a mad little country, you"ll love it.Countries I'll tick off this year: Iceland, Slovenia + 1 more.
Have a nice timeThinking of Japan for next year. However I have no idea where you would go in Japan or what type of holiday you get there. Plus I imagine the cost will be high.
Have a nice time
Supertar on the island of Brac (also called Bol) is ace....small beach but so chilled. I’ll be there in SeptemberJust got back from a weekend in Oslo. Very cool city if not a bit expensive/cold. Will go back in summer at some point for sure.
Rest of year, planning on South France early summer and then maybe Croatia. Anybody got any advice for sleepy beach towns in Croatia?
You'll struggle to find a beach in Croatia that's for sure. Shingle coves and dramatic cliff coastline is what you get.
I've fallen for the place. Lack of beaches keeps the UK hordes away and makes them favour the Costas and so on. Result being it's not overrun by tourists.
I favour the Istrian peninsular. I've stayed in Porec, Pula, and am booked to go to Rovincz in July which is the best time to go weather wise. I have also holidayed in Markaska down the Dalmatian coast and that was good.
Absolute loads of options for accommodation be it hotels rentals or whatever. Cheap to eat out and bevy, honestly give it a whirl I don't think you'll be disappointed. Another bonus for me at least, just over 2 hour flight time.
Slovenia is beautiful.....like a better version of the Lake District....make surprisingly good wine too.Countries I'll tick off this year: Iceland, Slovenia + 1 more.
Heading there twice in the next 6 weeks. Love the place.South Africa.
Value for money is astonishing out there.
Domestic stuff like Castle is dirt cheap. Imported stuff a bit pricier in comparison, but still cheaper than you'd pay in the UK.
Having said that, there are so many great South African wines and they are ridiculously cheap too, so I spent more time on that than beer. When mrs. Tree and I were there it was 16 rand to the £, and we were buying wine at 40 or 50 rand for a bottle which, in terms of quality, would be £15+ per bottle in the UK.
Eating out was equally good value. We sent the bill back on a couple of occasions because we thought we'd been undercharged by so much that we must have been given another table's bill by accident.
Sounds like you've done your research. Everything you've said is spot on.Loved Porec, and Rovinj is stunning too.
We’ve just booked a week in September in Croatia....decided on a ‘book everything seperate’ multi-location break. We’ve got some American friends meeting us there...there’ll be four couples.
Fly Manchester to Dubrovnik, stay a night there, then hop to island of Korkula for a day/night, ferry to Hvar and Brac next day and stay in the beautiful little coastal town if Supertar. Then take the ferry to Split, have a day and night there and then travel to Zadar for a day and a night before flying home. We booked apartments in every place plus flights and it’s cost £240.00per person. All th places are 9/10 or higher on booking.com.....you can’t go wrong in Croatia.
The Jadrolinkja ferry lines are brilliant....cheap,as chips, ice cold beer on board, open decks for catching the sun and most trips are 1 to 2 hours
Trying Montenegro in May too.
