Domestic stuff like Castle is dirt cheap. Imported stuff a bit pricier in comparison, but still cheaper than you'd pay in the UK.

Having said that, there are so many great South African wines and they are ridiculously cheap too, so I spent more time on that than beer. When mrs. Tree and I were there it was 16 rand to the £, and we were buying wine at 40 or 50 rand for a bottle which, in terms of quality, would be £15+ per bottle in the UK.

Eating out was equally good value. We sent the bill back on a couple of occasions because we thought we'd been undercharged by so much that we must have been given another table's bill by accident.

I go pretty much every year , I love the place , the value is amazing and the people fantastic . I can’t ever recommend it highly enough , the lifestyle you can enjoy for the money spent is incredible . Your spot on on the bill the amount of times you see tourists checking and rechecking then getting their phones out to calculate thinking it must be wrong .

So many people I know have been nervous to go but once they’ve gone can’t wait to get back there .

Looking at going to the Hebrides in 2020, stopping off at various places along the way due to the 9hr plus drive.

Have you ever got up that far ?
No this will be first time to the Highlands only been as far as St Andrews previously, looking forward to everything other than the midgies

No mate. Stayed on the black isle last year but did a lot of travelling. Furthest north we got was Ullapool. The west coast is exceptionally beautiful (east coast and speyside ain’t too shabby either).

I’ve done Skye a few times and the torridon’s as well. All stunning. There’s loads to do with the family and the seafood is amazing. The beaches are beautiful, just a shame that the weather is usually crap!

If your going up north then I suggest you take the west coast route either on your way there or on your way home, you won’t regret it.

May sound mad, but it’s just somewhere I’ve always wanted to go to.

I think the kids would love it, although I’m not so sure about the missus !

Got Dusseldorf for a Stag in July, then going to Orlando in September, cannot wait.

Just wondering if anyone on here has been to Kiev? Been pricing a weekend away with a few mates and it seems incredibly cheap yet a lot safer than I had assumed, as most of the issues are in Donetsk/Crimea.
