Horse Racing

....Chester starts tomorrow, threw an early dart in the Chester Cup later this week.

Watersmeet is against the trends because it’s 8 years old and not trained by a jumps trainer, but 33-1 with BetFred/BetVictor is a huge price. It might not turn up in which case i’ve done my dough but at that price it’s worth a little interest.

...final declarations out. I know they run a distance, but a low draw has been a big factor in this race. The record of 4yo is also good so added Cliffs of Dooneen @ 20-1. That’ll do me for a little interest in this famous old race.

....mmm, might not have been the smartest bet given it’s preference for good ground. Chester have now declared the ground is soft.

Any others you fancy for the meeting tomorrow Eggs?

....not really, the rain looked to be really getting into the ground so might scupper my couple of bets (although it looks like Cliffs of Dooneen is getting backed and I also have Watersmeet).

Ben Linfoot (Sporting Life) picked a decent winner today. I like his selections because they offer a bit of value. He’s gone for; Baraweez 1.50, Frankuus 3.00 and Fun Mac in the Chester Cup.

If I hear anything tomorrow i’ll let you know.

Can anybody answer this betting question for me...

I placed a £1 yankee, which of course totals £11. But what happens if one of the selections is voided. What does the bet become?

Is it now just a £1 treble and I get an £8 refund?

Nope. That bet will just be taken out of the overall bet.

There won't be a refund

That's what I think

So even if a selection is voided through no fault of my own before the bet even starts, then I have to just eat the loss?

And is the bet now just a £1 treble, or maybe even a Trixie?

im sure it wont have much effect on the bet, well only the payout as you obviously lose that leg of the multiple

...no, I imagine it’s treated as a non-runner. You would get £1 refunded if you’d done a £1 Lucky 15, but all your multiples will still stand.

Michael O’Leary winding down his Gigginstown operation.

Bit of a blow NH enthusiasts

...yep just reading that. I actually think some folk will be content because they were starting to dominate races, can’t recall how many darts he threw at the Grand National. Controversial character as well. Saying that, he poured a lot of money into the game.

Irish Racing might be the loser.
