I've just been reading a piece from the New York Times saying that 30 horses have died this year at the Santa Anita track, and they say on average 10 horses died per week on American race tracks.

Does it say what from? Mainly injuries due to conditions of tracks?

It didn't but it did mention a trainer who has been barred from the track after 4 of his horses had died, the owners of the track are blaming trainers.

I watch a fair bit of US racing.
Some absolute awful horses being ran in races they shouldn't be in.
And, some shocking jockeys btw.

The Irish Derby was one of those dirty each way races that I keep saying are so profitable.

I had £110 EW on Sovereign (66-1) and £150 EW on Norway (33-1), laid off as "chances to nothing" (ie I would have lost nothing if they didn't win/place).
Sovereign netted my £400 and Normal netted my £350 when they both came in. Not a bad afternoon's work.
