Horse Racing

....amazing performance from Chevely Park runners over the last few days at Down Royal. More Specifically; Ballyadam, Quixilios, Envoi Allen and Sir Gerhard.

I’ve got 3 of them in my Cheltenham book at really fancy prices, but i reckon you’d still have a very nice ante-post bet if you put them in a small stakes Yankee at this stage:

Ballyadam (Supreme Novices)
Envoi Allen (Marsh Novices Chase)
Sir Gerhard (Champion Bumper)
Quixilios (Triumph Hurdle)

Totally forgot it’s Melbourne Cup tonight.

O’Brien has first two in the market.

....chip off the old block is Joseph, could be a genius in the making as Twilight Payment obliges @ 22-1. I’ve already got some of his jumpers in the book for Cheltenham, although he’s indicated he will be concentrating more on the flat.

Sad news former Derby winner, Anthony van Dyke suffered a fatal injury in the race.

Must resist the obvious Van Dijk joke..

I think it was announced a while ago but John Oxx set to retire.

Gutted reading that. What a trainer, Sinndar was a good’n and the legendary Sea the Stars.

There’s a really good YouTube video with John Oxx and Mick Kinane talking about the day Sea The Stars arrived at his yard. Came walking out of the horse box and both of them said wow, look at this fella.

Superb trainer, humble, appears to be a real Gent too

....free £5 bet with PP on the 1.50 at Cheltenham today, I popped mine on Eamon an Cnoic who I’ve backed so often but never had a return.

Looking forward to the Easyland v Tiger Roll in the Cross Country Chase.
Think I might go for Potters Corner each way. It's well in on the weights
and has won both the Welsh & Midlands Grand Nationals so it will stay all day.
My only concern is the track. It really is special. I'm sure they run out of the track
and around Cheltenham bus station before they come back :-)
Should be a great race whatever happens for us National Hunt enthusiasts.
