How come I miss backing these tips, but seem to manage backing the 2/1 losing ones ?

....I put a 12-1 footy ‘tip’ up an hour ago in the footy bets thread, it’s now as low as 5/6. I got a message that Benitez is set to be Celtic’s next manager. Probably based on a jarg rumour but the odds are tumbling.

Fair enough.
Can just see him going back to Newcastle.

What price is Henrik Larson ?

I don’t quite get the betting in today’s Sky Bet chase Doncaster 3:15.
The favourite Cap Du nord is 3/1, yet Canelo who finishd 4 lengths behind him but enjoys a 4lb gain at the weights is 6/1.
I’d have thought they’d have been much closer in the betting, especially when the stats show that only 3 out of the last 18 favourites have won this and that claiming jockeys have a poor record, Cap du nord is ridden by a claimer.
It appears at face value that Cap du nord has a great chance but surely then so does Canelo at twice the price. Canelo’s trainer Alan King has his horses running really well right now too, he had a winner yesterday.

The biggest priced winner in the last 18 runnings was 25/1 so I’m not expecting this to go to a complete outsider but one I think has a chance at 16/1 is Boldmere. He was running well last time out until making blunder which ruined his chance, it has the stats of weight and age on his side and is a course and distance winner.

I‘ve just had £20 win Canelo, 6/1 Corals and £10 EW Boldmere 16/1

Good luck with your bets today

I had Canelo when he won last time and backed him again today, feel even more confident after reading this.

...never mind, Matey, this year produced a 40-1 winner.

The problem with some runners in these handicaps is trainer trying to protect their handicap mark for Cheltenham. I wouldn’t give up on Canelo, I know a few punters who fancy it for the Ultima at the Festival.

Shishkin looked fabulous today, hard to believe I had it at 33-1 when it won last years Supreme. No fancy prices for this years Arkle but I have it (and Envoi Allen) in so many multiple and special bets, I really hope he does the business in March. Fingers and everything else crossed.

Wouldn’t have been too bad if Everton had won.
Shocking run by that gamble, Boldmere. I always wonder about these gambles and what’s going on with them, they never seem to come off, or very few anyway. Can’t help but smell a rat.
There’s always next week!!!
