Horse Racing

Tickets still on sale , just like Cheltenham their greed is killing it
From what I can tell, it's only the Embankment (just over the Melling Road) and hospitality left for the Saturday, which isn't uncommon.

The Thursday, even though it's the best day in my humble opinion, rarely sells out. You couldn't drag me to go on the Friday with the great unwashed.

You can get tickets for pretty much anywhere today and tomorrow it’s not far off that to be honest . Saturday it’s embankment , Earl of derby terrace and as you day hospo. I appreciate your opinion on Friday , and I agree on Thursday , but it’s normally pretty chocca .

Get a shower today and then don't bother tomorrow. You'll fit right in Phil😀

Thursday has good quality racing (three Grade 1 races) and the punters it attracts make it more enjoyable: people who know their racing; more relaxed overall.

It's usually fairly busy yet rarely sells out though, which is the appeal. You can get your bet on fairly comfortably, don't queue too long for ale and can watch.

Surprised they haven't sold more for the Friday (just peeked and you're right, there's lots available) as it usually attracts a bumper crowd, but hey ho.

As I said, the racing on a Friday is dire, and it attracts far (FAR!) too many idiots.

Pretty much.

I went last year and in years gone by it was near impossible to reach the bar kn less than 20 mins, this time, there were no queues.

A great day out, but when you add cost of an outfit, ticket, ale and betting you’ve basically paid for a fairly boss holiday so for that reason I’ve decided To leave it for the future.

£7.20 for a Carling? They’re not even hiding their mocking of spectators there.

Won’t be long till it’s a tenner a pint.

20 pence a pint of carling is ridiculous. Did Chester races some years back and everyone was trolleyed going in, the queue's for the lavs easily beat those for the bars... 'taps nose' ;) ;)

imagine having that many people on horses in one place and not doing one joust
not a single cavalry charge
just fast dressage

nuke it and everyone who goes
