Horse Racing

….this years Champion Bumper is a bit of a minefield with so many hyped horse. I’m hearing a few positives about Gameofinches for Mullins who runs this weekend. He’s 20-1 with NRNB concession which takes away all the risk. If he bombs you get your money back, but wins well and he’ll be around the head of the market.

….at last, one that justifies the hype. Won on the snaff and now 4-1 fav for those that backed him.

Absolutely dreadful news. A talented young man with his future in front of. A family steeped in national hunt racing with his dad William, uncle Eugene and cousin Maxine all having tasted success at Cheltenham.
An unbelievably sad time in the whole area. I live locally and was married in the same church that his funeral took place in. A nicer family you will never meet. The 3 1/2 hour queue at his wake will tell you everything you ever need to know. I didn't know Michael personally but I know his family. It's going to take the whole area a long time to come to terms with the passing of an unbelievably talented young man

….the way Irish Racing have handled this tragic event is top class. Clearly a lovely young man as well as a brilliant rider but cancelling meetings to pay respect shows a proper community paying its respect to one of theirs.

…..tonight is the night my racing forum meet to announce one selection we all plunge on & then watch as hopefully the price collapses. The bloke who runs it is an owner himself with close connections to stables (particularly Skelton yard) so does plenty of research to ensure the horse in question is fancied and being targeted at a particular race.

We’re getting together at 19.00, suspect we’ll get to know and put our bets on maybe 40mins later. Happy to post it on here, it’s a bit of fun and hopefully we get a good run for our money.

…Busselton 25-1 Coss Country. Also gave Henry’s Friend Ultima.

How does this selection normally do?

The Cheltenham Festival is nearly here, where's the smart money going, apart from the bookies retirement fund !!!

….handicap entries and weights have been out for a few weeks so I’ve been concentrating on those & getting lots of multiples in my book (low risk with NRNB).

Entry stages and ‘live’ final decs are always a big watch for somebody as into it as I am.
